The fore-runner of the PABF was the Far East Bridge Federation, an organization founded in 1957 to administer bridge activities in the respective geographical area. The name was changed to Pacific Asia Bridge Federation in 1995. The PABF currently comprises of World Bridge Federation (WBF) Zones 6, the fastest growing Zone with Khunying Chodchoy Sophonpanich of Thailand as the President, and 7. The PABF has 15 member NBOs, including Australia, China, China Hong Kong, China Macau, Chinese Taipei, French Polynesia, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
